What code reader do I need for my 1994 Acura Integra LS?

The car smells of exhaust and is running rough. I’ve checked a lot of things with it- but still a problem. Want to do the repairs myself- but can’t find which code reader I would need to diagnose this.

Your 1994 Acura has the OBDI emission monitoring system. I bought a kit with the manual (first source) in printed form, two shorting tools and a plastic screwdriver for $35. I think you’ll do fine with the manual in PDF form and a short jumper wire for free. Note that if the check engine light is not on there won’t be any codes.
Have you checked the spark plug wells for oil? Caused by leaking tube seals (part of the valve cover gasket set) oil in the wells is a common cause of sputtering.
